TEDx Adelaide is thrilled to partner with South Australian Makers to provide interactive event guest experiences at TEDx Adelaide: Metamorphosis on October 20th, at the Adelaide Town Hall. South Australian Makers Incorporated is a volunteer run, not for profit organisation that exists to provide opportunities for and to promote makers and making in South Australia. By dictionary definition, makers make. At South Australian Makers as well as make, they create, innovate, invent, fly, drive, design and much more.
During TEDx Adelaide, guests will have an opportunity to interact with a range of ‘hackerspace’ activities and 3D printers in action, facilitated by Fab Lab Adelaide. Managed by South Australian Makers, Fab Lab Adelaide is a volunteer run, digital fabrication workshop and home to a diverse community of people with a passion for making things, and who want to share that passion with others. 3D printing has rapidly gained interest for it’s ability and agility in design to manufacture and sustainable initiatives as an ‘additive’ technique producing much less waste than traditional manufacturing techniques.
South Australian Makers will also be able to share information with guests about their upcoming event; Maker Faire Adelaide, an event to inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of attendees in a family-friendly environment that celebrates technology, education, science, arts, crafts, engineering, food, sustainability – and more. Maker Faire Adelaide will bring people and ideas together on Sunday 6 November 2016 from 10am until 4pm, at Tonsley, 1284 South Road, Clovelly Park (the old Mitsubishi site). Adults $5, Kids go free!
