Brad is the founder of Welcome to Australia, a pastor and progressive thinker. His ‘work’ has seen him engaging with many different cultures both locally and around the world and has seen the rise of activism where it can provide invaluable support to struggling communities.
Brad Chilcott is founder of several influential progressive community organisations, including Activate, an inclusive community church where he serves as Lead Pastor. Brad also founded Welcome to Australia, a national movement devoted to cultivating a culture of welcome for asylum-seekers, refugees and other migrants.
Brad has advocated for community engagement and asylum-seeker Issues at state and federal levels, has worked for World Vision Australia, and serves on the boards of RESULTS International (Australia), Reconciliation SA, Common Grace and Food for Education (Kenya).
In 2012, Brad was named as a People of Australia Ambassador by Prime Minister Julia Gillard for his work promoting multiculturalism and social cohesion. He has received the Governor’s Multicultural Award, was a state finalist in the Australian of the Year Awards and named Citizen of the Year by the Charles Sturt Council in 2014.
